Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer stated in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to Brussels at the time.
This occurrence is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet carrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to turn back to Washington DC after suffering a technical issue.
