British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The athlete was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
