The Opening Game Pass Games of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Remains Committed.
Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the funeral bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing about PlayStation unprecedentedly. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. However, judging purely by the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft still intends to attract subscribers with quality releases on its flagship service.
The Current Inclusions
A pair of titles that are immediately available today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that deviates from conventional open-world tropes with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of frights and fights."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
Yet, the less-hyped additions arriving shortly on the service are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that is incredibly fun, becomes available next week — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that justify the service by themselves. Yet, this selection are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they were due initially — which makes them excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
