Which Three Arsenal Assets to Pick v Wolves? FPL Squad of the Week

The big move in this FPL lineup of the week involves go with no City assets - indeed, that includes Erling Haaland!

The budget is required to invest heavily on Arsenal players as they welcome among the worst sides in Premier League recent memory.

Yes, City scored in five goals on their most recent away fixture, but this time they meet Palace, a side with the second-strongest defensive record in the division for goals allowed and fourth-best in relation of expected goals conceded.

And the Gunners hosting Wolverhampton is the type of fixture you just have to attack - the best side in the division against one devoid of momentum, quality and confidence.

This squad of the gameweek is chosen based on current valuations to fit within a £100m limit, as if you were playing a Free Hit chip.

How did Last Week's Lineup Do?

The captain didn't deliver but strong hauls from Bruno Fernandes (eighteen), Ruben Dias (14), Phil Foden (12) and James Tarkowski (9), along with a fortunate sixteen-point Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall bench appearance produced a monster eighty-three points. Success!

FPL Team of the Week for Fixture 16

Keeper and Defence

Roefs, Sunderland, goalkeeper, £4.7m - Newcastle (home)

The first derby in the top flight for eight years is likely to be noisy, fiery, feisty - and it might be one of those tight matches that is all drama but minimal clear chances.

Which would make Roefs, third in the FPL goalkeeper standings, a good option.

Ben White, Arsenal, £5.2m - Wolves (home)

An Arsenal defender is a must for this fixture. Wolverhampton have just one goal on the road so far and one in their last six fixtures.

Ben White is a great attacking option when he gets his opportunity. He started the past two at full-back, registered a 14-point return against Brentford and leads the way in that time among Arsenal defensive players with 2 key passes, 2 shots in the box and an xGI of 0.7.

Cucurella, the Blues, £6.2m - Everton (h)

The Toffees are unpredictable so this pick is more about the Blues'defensive solidity and Cucurella upside.

The London club have the fourth-best defensive record while he has created more chances (nineteen) than any other defensive player in the league.

And he is yet to score yet, after scoring five goals the previous campaign.

Diogo Dalot, United, £4.4m - the Cherries (home)

You can't have great hopes for a Manchester United clean sheet - they have one this entire campaign - but the Cherries'scoring have slowed down in the past two matches.

Crucially, the Portuguese defender has been getting in some incredibly advanced roles as a wing-back in the last 3 fixtures.

During that spell he's taken 4 shots, 2 big chances, one goal and one assist. He also missed a great chance at Wolverhampton on Monday night as well.

Midfield Picks

Saka (C), Arsenal, £10.2m - Wolves (h)

This game against Wolves is too tempting to pass up and that renders Saka, Arsenaltop attacking player a must-have.

Little statistical analysis needed to support this pick. Manchester United had twenty-seven shots at Wolverhampton on Monday night, scored four and might have had double that.

The Gunners will be keen to attack.

Rice, the Gunners, £7.1m - Wolverhampton (h)

Just a single point behind Bruno Fernandes in the midfield scoring list, Rice is incredibly reliable for Arsenal.

With more license to attack this term, he's generated more chances than any Gunners teammate (27) and has five assists to his name.

He's also the most reliable for minutes as Mikel Arteta might view this fixture as a chance to rotate his squad.

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United, £9m - Bournemouth (h)

The Portuguese playmaker might have taken over from Semenyo as the essential FPL midfield asset.

Fixture-proof, always a candidate for defensive contribution points and with multiple routes to points.

Cole Palmer, Chelsea, £10.3m - Everton (home)

This gameweek's punt, Palmer has his first ninety minutes under his belt after a long injury and we know what an explosive FPL asset he is capable of being.

You sense that, as soon as he has a single strong performance, FPL managers will be rushing to bring him in.

He missed ChelseaChampions League loss at Atalanta, but that was the team managing his minutes so he ought to be fresh for Everton.

Ouattara, the Bees, £6m - Leeds United (h)

Leeds United come into this game off the back of two strong home results against Chelsea and Liverpool, but away from home they have conceded three goals for every one they've netted.

This is likely Ouattara last match before heading to the Africa Cup of Nations.

He's been superb for Brentford this term, and has five goal contributions in his last three fixtures at home.

Strikers

Thiago, Brentford, £6.9m - Leeds United (h)

It's been a frustrating couple of gameweeks for Thiago FPL managers, with only 3 points in two matches.

However, he's the second goal scorer in the division and has seven goals in 7 home games. He is the best forward option this week and, with a favourable fixture list, you can select and hold until the January window at the very least.

Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool, £8.4m - Brighton & Hove Albion (home)

It is expected that Arne Slot continues to start with the young Frenchman, after his brace performance at Leeds United.

He was well at the start of the campaign and you can't help but think what he would have done had a rival striker not been signed and competed with him for minutes at the number nine role.
